At 300 mp, their performance even under combined arms are not something you can rely on. I've seen them do well but also do next to nothing in good circumstances. Now, sure, they start to get good once you get upgrades (lmg and veteran squad leader) and combined arms, but out of the gate they are not dependable for defending against allied infantry outside ideal situation.

Plus the mp bleed from losing members adds up quickly, and a well microed greyhound, sniper or humber, or stuart will add up quickly.

Their dps chart seems to mean they are weaker riflemen when not under CA, however i've found that it mean you can maybe win against tommies by closing up, but even that is unreliable due to the their training bonus against units out of cover.

Bottom line is i think this unit needs a clearer role in terms of ranged dps. Currently they seem to favor closer range, but assault grens already handle that albeit with much less damage at medium/long. however pgrens dont have a particularly great one

I understand your view - as price/value could seem steep. Though I dont feel its to much of an issue in the current game.

DAK Pgrens are not speciliased by design, as they are multi-purpose, main line infantry. The fact of them having snares, are able to replair and them scaling well into late makes them quite solid.

They dont scale that well though, especially when allied heavy tanks start showing up with their great AOE. The bleed is still pretty high, and they likely have to contend with allied elite infantry. They go from disappointing to kinda good, while most mainline get "good" pretty quickly.

I'd like some more insight on this post, do the devs think Dak grens are fine as is ?

And again. For a mainline infantry unit they are not as reliable as they should be given the price and upkeep. focus fire is a super wieird ability that is easy to cancel, etc.

DAK PzGrens imo, are a unit that are decent, probably expensive from the start, but they adapt quite good in every situation, with the new BG you can have some decent anti vehicle answers, and you can get some serious weapons salvaging. In infantry fights, vs Rifles they need some distance but can fight up close vs Brits and early game engaging close is an option (even vs sappers if you move the sappers will lose model before getting close trying to out DPS your Grens). They have a good fire power with upgrades at every range. Sure they are not rangers... but imo I rely a lot on them when playing DAK, I am only more cautious when pushing, and with DAK you should engage with the large amount of LV's you own.. They are a push and pull unit, that can replenish on the Battlefield with the Med truck.

Do they need to be 300 from the start? I think a 280/290, will be perfect for them, so Ass.Grens will seem like the "Eliter" option for 300 MP.

I dont agree with Allies infantry being good from the start, I personally think brit inf is super squishy, without any upgrades they can get smashed by PzPios, Rifles are very interesting from the start, but you need to upgrade them a lot, and you need like 4 of them, which is the minimum standard for all factions atm,. And your rifles will look bad, if you cant get close.. resorting to throwing Greyhound to the front where some AT and Jaeger will be ambushing you or landing on mines...

I think you need to play USF or Brits more to realize, we tend to see what we think OP as shiet, i.e: when I play Axis, M3 Grants looks like dope, when I play them its potatoes... and can get smashed by double stugs...

I've never considered DAK Pgrens to be close range infantry. Just because they might very slightly lose to Sections at long range doesn't mean you should rush them up close every time - it's something that you should only situationally do. What you should be doing most of the time is using them long range from cover and using some supporting unit to help out. Be it a vet1 krad, a mortar HT, a machine gun or whatever.

It says this :"Standard infantry effective against infantry at medium-range with higher short-range performance than other standard infantry. Combined Arms bonuses when near combat vehicles."

After the nerf, it loses to rifles, i think relic wants to make another 'rifles vs grens' scene with 'DAKgrens vs sections'?
