In-Game Policy
We welcome your participation in our online community, be it by playing our games or posting in our forums.


We ask that you use our forums with respect to all other participants, and to the members of our community at large. We ask that you review the Site Terms of Service and the Company of Heroes: Online Terms Of Use. By participating in these forums you are consenting to the adherence to these rules.


Failure to follow the Site Terms Of Service while posting in our forums may result in the following:

  • Receive a warning through e-mail or private message
  • Receive a temporary suspension of varying timeframes
  • Receive a permanent account ban

 

 

The Relic Online Exploitation and Harassment Policy
Company of Heroes: Online, Company of Heroes, Opposing Fronts, Tales of Valor
THQ Inc. is taking action against players involved in activities that may create an uneven playing field for others or have significant negative impact on the enjoyment of Company of Heroes for all players. This may involve (but is not limited to) activities such as “drop-hacking”, in-game aggravation, or verbal harassment.


“Drop-Hacking”, Lagging, Sync Errors, Disconnect Abuse, and other Game Exploits


Drop-hacking is a specific action taken by a player to manually disconnect from a game with the intention of acquiring a win illegitimately or avoiding a loss intentionally. This does not include using the in-game option to quit, or if your internet connection unintentionally drops. However, we will still be tracking trust for players who appear to drop often, regardless of the method used to drop. This also includes players using artificial lag, causing sync errors, lag kicking, or any other game abuse to artificially gain a win or avoid a loss. Using hack/cheat programs or exploiting game flaws/bugs provides an unfair advantage to players, ruining the fair gameplay experience for legitimate gamers. This will not be tolerated.

 

 

 

In-Game Harassment
In-game harassment is considered abusing game mechanics to cause another player grief. This can involve (but not limited to) forms of “team-killing”, from intentionally sandbagging or barbed-wire trapping a teammate in to using mortars or artillery strikes on a teammate’s base.

 

 

 

Verbal Harassment and Inappropriate Behavior
Verbal harassment is considered (but not limited to) highly inappropriate language taking place in game lobbies or during a game. Language such as racial or ethnic, gender-specific, religious, vulgar or sexual orientation slurs will not be tolerated. We will also not tolerate spamming, advertising, or discussion of illegal activities. This also applies to inappropriate player profile names/nicknames. Nicknames with racial or ethnic, gender-specific, religious, vulgar or sexual orientation slurs will not be tolerated at any time. This also includes impersonating and/or harassing Relic employees or other official game staff.

 

 

 

Action Taken
If a player is found or strongly suspected to have participated in any of the above activities or any other inappropriate behavior as found so by Relic staff, he or she may:

  • Receive a warning through e-mail
  • Receive a temporary suspension of varying time frames
  • Receive a permanent account ban
  • Have his or her stats reset

 

 

How to Report
Should you come across any players participating in these actions, we prefer that you save a replay AND a screenshot and send it to support@companyofheroes.com. We will investigate the incident and act accordingly. If you believe you have been suspended or banned wrongly, please contact support@companyofheroes.com.
