US paratroopers m1 carbine fires like a bolt action rifle. The carbines should be reworked to have a high fire rate and dps curve changed to be a better close to mid range option.
Currently, USF paras fill the same role as SSF. I feel like they should be a stronger mid-close range unit, it makes sense due to them having the m1 carbine.
The m1 carbine is light, with low recoil and a larger clip, it also lacks the same punch as a garand at long ranges. It should be different to the heavier m1 garand, in moving accuracy and fire rate, yet un-upgraded paras have an identical dps curve to rifles.
I suggest that paras should perform similarly to wehr panzergrens. This would make the battlegroup feel and perform differently, without being identical to ssf as they are now.
Why even have M1 carbines in the game if they're just a worse M1 garand. M1 carbine should be the USF MP-44 equivalent, then it would have a good role and good flavour.
Paras could also have a munition costing m2 carbine upgrade, transforming them into assault infantry, like a thompson with better mid range. Sure there weren't many made, but neither were many FG42s made and every single fallschirmjäger has one. This frees up the 1919 to be used elsewhere.
