conscript 10th man

7 man conscript squad doesn't solve anything, they should finally turn soviets into soviets and give conscripts 10 men but only 6 of them have weapons. the other 4 are just a health pool until the others die.

at veterancy 1, +1 armed man (7)

at veterancy 2, +2 armed men (8)

at veterancy 3 +4 armed men (10)

but give grens ambush camo free from the moment the player hits t2, relplace ambush camo ability with upgraded version that works like coh1 snipers, since wehr can't compete with 2 bars 2 brens or 6 men let alone 10

    This will not works

    • No one like to play against a whole army being in camo by default. The camo already come from doctrine, and already powerful enough.
    • With 7th men, minus 3 men hold rifle from each squad Cons & Gren. Im sure 1 LMG42 can not deal damage as good as 4 rifle.
    • Cons vet3 get 40% harder to hit. 10 men will requires model drops like ants like Ostruppen.
    • Give them 10men will destroy Sniper game play.

Cons may not need 7th men. But need easier to gain 'harder to hit' vet. Gain to vet3 for 40% harder to hit is too hard to achieve.

Why would they do something so grossly racist as propagate the "Asiatic hordes" myth when the Soviets rarely sent soldiers in to battle without weapons - especially in Stalingrad where this game is mostly set?

The only instances of Soviets not having rifles comes groups that were encircled during barabarossa who didn't have time to arm themselves, and volunteers (NOT Red army soldiers or conscripts) who joined the fight.

Further more - 10 men would fuck the game around too much. Conscripts wouldn't be able to fit in most buildings so they'd never garrison again, and they'd struggle to stay behind cover because of their massive size.

10 is a very bad suggestion in all aspects. More MP and Pop cost, snipers will have no major role and the list goes on and on.

It is difficult to find cover for 10 ppl squad. Make them harder to hit is more reliable.

Yeah even outside of balance concerns, there's the fact that it's not even practical for the game to handle.

I very like your idea but i think CONSCRIPT default with 10 men without guns or only pistol
    Vet 1 + 2 men per squad
    Vet 2 + 2 men per squad
    Vet 3 + 2 men per squad

I literally do not understand what we're fixing or imbalancing by taking Con squads up to 7 men. In my opinion it will not substantially alter how Soviets play and are played against. If you're using your Cons to screen then a 7th man does nothing, if you're using them to attack he will make them a tad harder to wipe, but they were already hard to wipe. Seven men does nothing to make them less suppressible or their special abilities more viable. I guess since it's a Commander Tree thing and my own thoughts are that it's unclear what affect it will have they might as well try it and see if the effect it has on game-play is more than subjective.

Talking about 5.0? The change looks like it is pretty solid. They will vet better and save some extra manpower to put elsewhere.

And the cover bonus looks like it will make the fierce defenders.
