I would like to extract images from the game such as unit icons, unit portraits, skill icons, upgrade icons, etc. Is there a way to do this?

Yes, you need to drag the `UI.sga` file within `steam\steamapps\common\Company of Heroes 3\anvil\archives` to the Essence Editor renderer and it will display all the units with `.rrtex` extension. Double click any and it will display in the editor. You can then extract it as `png` by clicking the save icon. Cheers!

Will this allow you to edit the icon and insert it back in for that unit after you edit it?

From @Sneakeye on another thread: "Custom icons can be imported. In the folder "assets" create the nested folders: ui\icons. And save the .png icons in there.

Then simply use the filename without extension in the icon field. No mod id needed." So that we have all this together.

As I recall, that bug didn't last long.
