I think this needs a rework, either move elite infantry back to require more CPs or limit the number you can field at any one time.  This is for all factions (though axis don't have as good elites as the phantom commandoes swapping weapons instantly to handle any threat type) or rangers.


The things that are limited to 1 at a time are things, like Tigers, appear so late in game and cost so much that you are just unlikely to be able to field 2+... they are self limiting and thus don't need the hard cap of 1 on the field at a time... but units that game change with their multi threat type and resilience like commandoes and upgraded rangers appear from 1CP onwards (less than 4 mins into the game) and can be spammed... any counter that can be built from stock buildings take 15 mins to field...


It just makes no sense...


Otherwise maybe a cap on any unit type would be interesting, I mean 90%+ of games right now are US Bar spam, greyhound spam, ranger spam just to pick on US faction as an example.
