Below you will find lists containing Relics shortcommings. Its hard to believe that "cohdevelopment" actually meant anything other than PR. Its quite insulting to see "25 years relic" with every startup, eventhough its obvious that nobody currently at relic were part of the original dev-teams for the coh1 or coh2.
Mechanics missing:
1. Oberserver mode
2. Replays
3. Crushing infantry
4. Denying medics with force fire
5. Crawlers
6. Focus fire commands persisting after a move/stop command (Units forget focus fire after a move command. Makes this game very tactical! /s)
7. Functioning pings (or atleast noticeable)
8. Non-confusing teamcolours.
9. Kill counters broken and hidden behind a "hover-over" menu
10. Functioning stats at the end of a match (Current one is broken and incomprehensible, also people are interested in models killed, wipes can be listed besides)
11. A well made victory/defeat transition (Current one, I would argue is stroke inducing)
12. A SURRENDER BUTTON
13. Finished UI elements for all units !? (Why do we have coh2 placeholder icons? SU76-icon for the USF AT-Halftrack..., the release delay surely helped....)
14. A map pool with map vetos
15. Classic hotkeys
16. Alt-key press shows player names above units
17. Non-obstructive playerlist (current one is baaaad, you lose your entire perception of the ongiong match just to mute someone, or to check who quit the game)
18. Veterancy descriptions are still missing on some units since the play test.
19. Actual Ranked matchmaking (Current one is also hidden ranked, but leaderboards ingame would be pretty 2003 of you[Good])
Bad gameplay elements reintroduced:
1. Elite camo infantry with snares
2. Very powerful call ins, so powerful it replaces entire armies (Pathfinders & Spaghetti tanks)
3. Completly broken airstrikes which are dirt cheap (Brits AT-loiter, 120 munis)
4. Snipers with high RoF, which are also self-spotting (Remember that in coh2 or self spotting 45 range pumas?)
5. Many abilities not costing ANYTHING, especially powerful for flares.
6. Units with permanent sprint from Vet 0.
7. Unhull/Hull-down being instantanous within and outside of combat
8. Spammable AT inf with superb AI damage (Schreck-Jäger and AT sections)
9. Panzerschrecks dealing damage like a medium tank.
10. Heavy MGs able to fire out of transports (DAK 250)
11. Anti-air capabilities distributed completly uneven (Kind of important for the complete broken airstrikes, Quad-HT > all)
12. Omni-potent heavy tanks, as of yet only the Tiger. (More range than any tank, decimates infantry and tanks, huge health pool, quite speedy, good armor)
13. Booby traps wipeing full health squads without any warning (DAK booby traps)
Can we please fix these things in under 8 years?
